Blogged - Evie Pop Up Store in The Rocks, Sydney
As some of you may know, my boyfriend is part of a design collective known as The Design Division. They do some pretty cool things – from furniture to jewellery, homewares and candles. Three recent projects that they’ve been working on are the Skol Cups, Cosmic Candles and Prisma Candle.
These products are currently being featured and sold in a pop up store in Sydney’s The Rocks, run by the Evie Group. The store will only be around for a limited time only, so get in quick to 75 1/2 George St in The Rocks and buy them while you can! You can also hear the boys talk about the creative design process at 11am on Saturday the 29th of September in the store.
If you’re a non Sydney resident who is interested in purchasing the products, unfortunately they currently don’t have online buying facilities however, feel free to email me and I will pass on your details!
Evie Group is a Sydney based design studio founded in 2010 by industrial designers Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong. Together they produce a range of award winning home wares, lighting and accessories. The philosophy behind the brand is to create designs that are carefully considered, elegant and timeless in their aesthetic.
I encourage all Sydney-siders to pop down to the Evie Group pop up store in The Rocks over the next few weeks. As some of you may know, my boyfriend internetcowboy is part of the design collective known as The Design Division. They have two products displayed at the store - Cosmic Candles and Skol Cup. Both are amazing.
Charles Jencks is the American landscape architect and designer behind this incredible flight of stairs. Called The Universe Cascade, it has 25 landings that mark the important shifts in cosmic history. Starting at the top, in the present day, and descending down, visitors are moving through 13 billion years of cosmic evolution. The steps finally disappear into the dark water below, which represents the mystery of the origin of the universe.
